Slate & Tile Roofing

Slate and tile are the roofs people notice. Natural slate is a hard, fine-grained stone that can be cut and laid in rich patterns, and synthetic slate gives a similar look with a lighter, more forgiving material.

We install and repair slate-style roofing on estate homes, historic properties and custom builds across Middle Tennessee. Because these roofs are heavy and detailed, we check the structure first and use copper or stainless flashing, in neighborhoods from Nashville to Franklin and Brentwood where the roof is a major part of the design.

FAQ

Common questions about slate & tile

Is synthetic slate a good alternative?

Yes. It is lighter, easier to install and often more impact resistant, while still giving a slate look.

Can a damaged slate roof be repaired?

Often, yes. Individual slates can be replaced and matched without redoing the whole roof.

Does a slate roof need special structure?

Natural slate is heavy, so we check the framing first. Synthetic products need much less support.
