Flashing Repair

Most roof leaks do not come from the middle of a shingle slope. They start where the roof meets something else: a wall, a chimney, a vent pipe or a valley. Flashing is the metal that makes those joints work, and when it rusts, lifts or is smeared with sealant, water gets in.

We repair and replace flashing on roofs across Middle Tennessee. In Nashville's older neighborhoods, many leaks trace back to flashing that has outlived the shingles around it, and replacing it properly, not patching it, ends the problem.

FAQ

Common questions about flashing repair

Why does flashing fail?

Metal rusts, sealant dries out and movement loosens joints. Poorly installed flashing fails sooner.

Can flashing be re-sealed instead of replaced?

A quick sealant fix may help for a short time, but replacement is the lasting repair.

What flashing metals do you use?

We use galvanized steel, aluminum, copper or stainless depending on the roof and the look you want.
